Welcome to the Warehouse Circus Online Year Book!
BACKGROUND
In 2010 Warehouse Circus turned 20! To celebrate this massive achievement we had a big party and invited all our members past and present, and all the friends we have made along the way to celebrate with us at our new training facility here in Chifley.
Former manager and trainer Kylie O’Keefe not only planned and helped coordinate the event, but also began work on compiling a 20th Birthday Year Book with photos, information and stories about each year of Warehouse Circus’s existence since 1990.
Along the way we realised that although we had heaps of great memories and memorabilia from the past 20 years, we may not have everything we need just yet to put together a full history of Warehouse Circus. We really didn’t want to leave anything (or anyone) out of the story. We also wanted to make sure that everyone who shares an interest in Warehouse Circus both past and present could have the opportunity to contribute to the compilation before it was completed.
And so the Warehouse Circus Online Year Book was born…
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Online Year Book is to create an interactive space to collect and display the history of Warehouse Circus where anyone who is interested can access it. Each online page can be changed at any time so we can add new information about each year as it is provided to us. Once we feel the record is comprehensive enough we are intending to produce a hard copy of the book that you can buy for keepsake.
We also intend to continue the online year book into the future as a way of documenting the activities and highlights of future years, so nothing is lost of this amazing organisation’s history.
HOW IT WORKS
First: Simply start browsing…see what you find that sparks a memory for you…see what is missing from the pages that cover the years you were involved. If we have gotten anything a bit wrong don’t be afraid to let us know. We want it to be an accurate record at the end.
Then: Write to us with contributions of any kind – stories, pictures, newspaper clippings, show programs, even just a sentence that describes your experience at Warehouse Circus, a performance you did or a trick you couldn’t wait to master. Pull out your old memorabilia and see what you have kept. If you have nothing physical, dip into your brain and see what you can find for us!
After that: Send any contributions to admin@warehousecircus.org.au or if they are hard copies, drop them in and we can scan them here at the office and return them to you. Give us some time to sort through and see your contribution added to the page.
Finally: Keep checking the Online Year Book page for new contributions and enjoy! Now go! Quick! Start looking! Start sending us things!
